Not One ... But

.... TWO of THEM in TWO days .

This story has been Re this and Re that ... and it is termed a Fable .

AND where did the word fable come from anyway ?

fabled (adj.) c.1600, "unreal, invented," pp. adjective from fable (v.) "to tell tales" (late 14c.), from O.Fr. fabler, from L. fabulari, from fabula (see fable). Meaning "celebrated in fable" is from 1706.fable (n.) c.1300, "falsehood, lie, pretense," from O.Fr. fable (12c.) "story, fable, tale; fiction, lie, falsehood," from L. fabula "story, play, fable, narrative, account, tale," lit. "that which is told," related to fari "speak, tell," from PIE root *bha- (2) "speak" (see fame). Sense of "animal story" (early 14c.) comes from Aesop. In modern folklore terms, defined as "a short, comic tale making a moral point about human nature, usually through animal characters behaving in human ways." Most trace to Greece or India.fib (n.) 1610s, of uncertain origin, perhaps from fibble-fable "nonsense" (1580s), a reduplication of fable. The verb is attested from 1680s. Related: Fibbed; fibbing.fabulous early 15c., "mythical, legendary," from L. fabulosus "celebrated in fable; rich in myths," from fabula (see fable). Sense of "incredible" first recorded c.1600. Slang shortening fab first recorded 1957; popularized in reference to The Beatles, c.1963.
